Site Conditions for the Laying of Vinyl Flooring

Including Amtico, PVC sheet and tiles, Linoleum.

HEATING                             A maintained ambient room temperature is vital to the success of the installation approx. 65 degrees is recommended by the manufacturers of these products.  It is not critical but it is important, particularly for the first week, that this temperature remains constant.

CONSERVATORIES           IN WINTER the above is especially important this may require some type of temporary heating which is the customers responsibility to provide and maintain.

IN SUMMER                        During hot periods it may be necessary to ventilate the room and cover the conservatory to provide shade to reduce the temperature to the correct level.

We cannot cut Amtico, vinyl tile and sheet or marmoleum neat to brick walls, we strongly suggest that skirting boards be fitted.

In extreme weather conditions we may have to delay installation until these are within acceptable limits.  This may be as short a notice as the day of installation.

LIGHTING                            Adequate level to perform the accurate cutting and laying of the floorcovering.

WATER                                A supply is needed to mix with various products especially in the preparation stages.

THE AREA ITSELF            This must be clear of furniture and appliances, we are NOT authorised or qualified to move, disconnect or reconnect electrical or gas appliances.

Access to the area must be limited to our fitting team only, due to the restrictions of the various Health and Safety Acts.

SUB FLOOR                         The initial site survey is limited to what we can have access to. If on starting the work we find problems, below the level we have surveyed, work will be stopped until discussions have been held to arrive at any extra cost.

UNDERFLOOR HEATING, HOT WATER OR HEATING PIPES    If these are close to the surface, or not insulated correctly, can cause vinyl to discolour if they run at a temperature of  27 degrees centigrade or above. These pipes should be pointed out to us prior to installation, and if not we cannot be held responsible for any problems thereafter.

CABLES                                We cannot move or resite cables unless these have been pointed out, and agreed at the original site visit/survey.

CLEANING AND

MAINTENANCE                Once the installation is complete it cannot be cleaned and dressed for 24 hours.  Cleaning and the application of any dresser or polish are the customer’s responsibility.

RUBBER BACKED MATS MAY CAUSE VINYL TO TURN YELLOW

Please do not hesitate to contact us with any queries on the above points.
